- Summary: Beyonce Knowles/The Pink Panther: Pink Panther interview: Beyonce knowles 01-28-06 Columbia pictures
- Description:03:47:35 - "These are hard, but for whatever reason, they day has not been difficult." 03:47:43 - Interviewer: What was it like making the transition from stage to screen? "It was actually, it was very natural. And maybe because I didnt really try it just kinda happened naturally. My first movie.. it's just.. it's still natural. And I think Im challenging myself more and more and its getting harder and harder the more challenging my rolls are, but its still something I think I have a gift for. Nice transition for your fans too? 03:48:35 - Interviewer: Was this a nice transition for your fans too? "Yes.. uhm actually when they first told me it was a pop-star, I was like, eww. And then they said pink panther and I said.. well, thats great. It's great to bring that back to my generation because weve never seen the original. Uhmm.. and then they said Steve Martin and Kevin Kline and I said, oh, I gotta do it. Definitely because theyre legendary, theyre so talented. Such great actors and Steve is so funny. I grew up watching his movies. So, I didnt know if I would have time to do a movie and it only took me 3 weeks. 2 weeks in New York and I was recording in New York, so it all kinda worked out. I got to go to Paris for a week and be a part of this historical movie. So, it was great. I learned a lot watching Steve because hes a writer and he kinda reminds me.. I mean, Im very serious and focused in really life and on stage Im the complete opposite and hes kinda the same. Hes really professional and hes a writer, and I would see him go from being the character to writing and working with the director to going right back into this outrageous character and to see him transform like that was unbelievable to watch. 03:49:57 - Interviewer: It sounds like you're being careful about the roles you choose. Yea I am.. because I told myself thank god, I mean, my first movie was with Mike Myers and all these other great actors and I said well I cant go back because I gotta work other great people so Ive been given that opportunity and now Im working in another movie, dream girls, with Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx, Morgan Freeman and all these amazing people. Observe 03:50:31 - Interviewer: It sounds like you observe (the people you work with) "I do.. I do.. and I like to be around people that can kinda challenge me and I can challenge myself and move up to the next level. " Did you look at the original movie? 03:50:43 - Interviewer: Did you look at the original movie? "I wanted to. I went out and got them when they told me about the movie. And I talked with the director and he said dont watch it.. dont watch it, wait wait till after the movie because I dont want it to influence you, this is so new and so I didnt. " After Dream girls 03:51:04 - Interviewer: You're working on Dreamgirls now. Do you have something else in the works? "Another solo album, but Im not even thinking about it till I finish Dreamgirls because Im committing myself a hundred percent to the movie. " 03:51:16 - B-roll - repeating a question - mixed up Morgan Freeman and Danny Glover 03:51:32 - Interviewer: You're working once again with some great actors. "I like to surround myself with people that can like push me up to the next level and right now I'm working on dream girls with Danny Glover.. and s... Why am I about to say Stevie Wonder? See, I need a break. Stevie Wonder? (laughs) Im sorry. Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, and weve all come together and it's great to witness that magic. 03:52:03 - Interviewer: When you have that many (famous actors) in one room that must be quite something. "Yea.. there is a shot in the movie when you see the 3 of them together and they're coming up this elevator and Im like, this is history Im watching even watching Kevin and Steve, thats history."
