- Summary: Jeremy and Nancy are getting married, for visa reasons. Mark, determined to save his friend, will do whatever it takes to stop them...
- Description:Peep Show returns for a second series in which socially dysfunctional 20somethings Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb) share a flat in south London and their inner thoughts can still be heard - whether they be dark, stupid or embarrassingly overblown. Problem-solving is most definitely not their forte,as they struggle to find answers to love and fulfilment as well less stressful tasks such as what DVD to watch, what drugs to take, and where to find each other's porn stash. Mark is hopelessly in love with a girl called Sophie from work but has to compete for her affections with his irritatingly smug work colleague Jeff. Jez has always had a bit of a thing for the girl next door,Toni but she has just got back with her husband who is also called Tony. Luckily he has met a very attractive American called Nancy but is not sure if he can keep her interested. His dodgy mate Superhans is still around to help him with his so called 'music career' which never manages to ever really get off the ground. Created by: Andrew O'Connor,Jesse Armstrong,Sam Bain Director: Tristram Shapeero Producer: Phil Clarke Cast: Rachel Blanchard (Nancy),Olivia Colman (Sophie),Neil Fitzmaurice (Jeff),John Hodgekinson (Tony),Patterson Joseph (Alan Johnson),Matt King (Superhans),David Mitchell (Mark),Elizabeth Marmur (Toni),Robert Webb (Jeremy) and Sarah Hadland,Jenny Howe,Eddie Hutton-Mills,Tim Steed (Episode six) Nancy asks Jeremy if he wants to get married,he is over the moon, despite her making it clear it will be purely for legal reasons so she can stay in the country. Mark is dubious about the whole thing and thinks Nancy is using Jez so he persuades Superhans to say that Nancy came on to him. On hearing the news Jeremy breaks down in tears and Mark and Superhans don't have the heart to continue so they say it was all a joke. Meanwhile Sophie tries to set up Mark with her friend Karen,Mark decides to give it a go and manages to charm her at the wedding until Sophie turns up and says she has just ended it with Jeff. Mark,Karen,Sophie and a strange Buddhist called Sam have a double date round Sophie's when Jeff turns up and makes a fool of himself by sobbing into Sophie's clothes. Mark ends up alone in the kitchen with Sophie and they nearly kiss,he is over the moon. Toni has gotten Jez a spirit-killing job and then comes on to him and tells him he should have an affair as Nancy wont sleep with him. Jez is gutted when having gone along with it,Nancy then says she has changed her mind and would like to start having sex again. Jez tries to end it with Toni but she wont have it because Tony has left her and threatens to tell Nancy. Jez decides to tell Nancy himself, she tells him they are still going to be married but their relationship is nothing more then a 'husk' and goes out that night on the pull.
