Description:To mark the first anniversary of the Asian tsunami,Mark Dowd asks where was God in the midst of all this.
(2 hour special for Boxing Day 2005)
Beyond the physical, psychological and economic trauma, the Boxing Day earthquake also presented a profound theological cataclysm. Religious leaders across the world found themselves grappling with age old questions of the existence of God and the presence of unjust pain, despair and suffering in the world.
Mark Dowd, former Dominican friar and devout Catholic, dreads this question because he believes it presents the ultimate challenge to religious belief. This film is Mark's journey in search of answers,to try and untangle the problems that the tsunami poses for faith in a secular and sceptical world.
Directed by Mark Dowd and Bruno Sorrentino
